*Mada Mada Kassou Shichau Yo! means “We are still continuing to skate!”

The talk show & all-night screening party for TV anime “Yuri!!! on ICE” was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills for the first time after the anime ended. The anime was aired from October ~ December in 2016 at TV Asahi and other broadcasting stations. The event was broadcasted live in total of 49 theaters, gathering more than 30 thousand fans.

Mitsuro Kubo (original planner, original script planner and original character planner), Toshiyuki Toyonaga (voice actor of Yuri Katsuki), Junichi Suwabe (voice actor of Victor Nikiforov) and Kōki Uchiyama (voice actor of Yuri Plisetsky) took platform for the talk show before the all-night screenplay. The talk show started with Mitsuro Kubo’s greeting, saying ‘What a heated atmosphere! I’m getting tense!’ and Tominaga continued her words by saying ‘Please try hard not to sleep in the last episodes of the Grand prix final since it’s all night long (laugh)’ to cheer audiences. Moreover, the new visual has appeared on the screen! Audiences became even more passionate by seeing all the skaters in new visual.

The talk show was consisted in 3 parts: ‘Short program’, ‘Free Skating’ and ‘Interview’ which were imaged from figure skate. In ‘Short program・recapitulation talk!!!’, each casts talked about their ways of acting their own characters. Tominaga recapitulated his way of acting by saying ‘I don’t remember how I acted after episode 7, since I was acting from the bottom of my heart. But I feel that this anime made me to have closer connection with Mr. Suwabe’, and Suwabe answered ‘You really think so?’ like Victor and provoked laughter of audiences. Uchiyama said ‘I felt that Yurio has changed through the episodes. I was just following him’, and Kubo concluded their words by saying ‘I felt that the anime transmigrated many times within making the story. I think I was able to make this anime without being self-satisfied’. Other than that, Tominaga asked the audience to ‘Please think about Yuri’s monologue in episode1, and when in the axis of time he said it’ and Suwabe shouted out ‘I won’t talk about how I acted the character. There should be various images of Victor in everyone. One thing I can say is that… I love Makkachin!’ with Makkachin’s tissue box in his hands. Uchiyama was asked about his impressive quotes and quickly replied ‘pigs’. There were some unique quotes by Yurio in the anime saying ‘Buta ni Kuwaseru Kin medal ha Ne! (There is no way a pig can win a gold medal!)’ or simply calling Yuri a ‘farming animal’. Kubo was questioned how these quotes were born, and answered that ‘the pronunciation of Katsuki and Kachiku (farming animal) were close’.

In the next part ‘Free Skating・things can be told now!!!’, Kubo talked about an astonishing episode she had with fans living abroad. These stories characterize the anime’s popularity throughout the world.

In the part of ‘Interview’, they answered some questions which were collected on Twitter. One of the question ‘who was the guy who picked up Chris in episode 11?’ was answered by Kubo, and turned out that he was a guy from Skating Federation in Switzerland. Uchiyama answered ‘I want to play the spin. I can’t imagine how professional skaters wouldn’t be sick by turning around a lot’, when he was asked about ‘a skating technique which you want to play’. Kubo continued his words by saying ‘You must check JJ’s spin. His eyes are always on camera (laugh). Please sing along the JJ’s song today’ and cheered audiences waiting to watch Yuri all-night.

In the end of the talk show, they have talked about their affection towards “Yuri!!! on ICE”. Kubo concluded the talk show by saying ‘I think it’s important that we made the anime with our best, but it’s more important that how it finishes inside the audience’s heart. Please enjoy the all-night screening party and try not to get sleepy.’
