Kochikame’s 40th Anniversary Event ‘Kochi-ten’ Is Coming

     The anime Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo known as Kochikame is coming back after eight years and has been creating a lot of buzz. In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the comic, a special exhibition called Kochikameten will be held at ‘Takashimaya’ (in Tokyo).   


     At ‘Kochikameten’, under the supervision of author Osamu Akimoto, specially chosen pieces of Kochikame art (from among more than three million pictures which were drawn for over 40 years of the serial), will be carefully selected and displayed. In addition, models and videos will also be on display. The Kochikame world will be presented in various forms at the venue. Don’t miss this because sales of Kochikame original goods have also been scheduled.

     This exhibition will have special visual displays based on popular Kochikame episodes. One highlight is the CHARGE!! The Thrilling World of Kochikame! display which has been on parade during various festivals nationwide. 


     Touching Kochikame episodes will be presented at the ‘Touching and Dramatic Masterworks Selection’ corner. In addition, a model of the drawbridge from the masterpiece episode, ‘Open the Kachidoki Bridge! chapter from volume 71, the Kachidoki Bridge will be on display. This event will totally immerse you in the world of Kochikame.  


     The exhibition will be held from September 14 until September 26, 2016 at the Nihonbashi, Takashimaya, 8th floor hall. Kochikameten sequel information will be released later on the Kochikame and Weekly Shonen Jump official sites. Stay tuned.

     Admission times : 10:30 am to 7 pm (7:30 pm closing time)
     ※On the last day, final admission will be at 5:30 pm (6 pm closing time)
     Admission fee : General Admission : 800 yen/University students and high school students : 600 yen/free for junior high school students and below
