New Animated Film ‘Haikara-san ga Tōru’ Scheduled For Release In 2017

The first broadcast of the original TV anime series was broadcast 50 years ago and now the series is coming back

‘Haikara-san ga Tōru‘ (also known as Mademoiselle Anne), a TV anime series which became popular about 50 years ago as a Taisho period romance, is now coming back as a new film animation adaptation.
The original Japanese shōjo (female youth) manga was written by Waki Yamato, and was published by Kodansha in their magazine, ‘Shōjo Friend’ from 1975 to 1977. It was awarded the first Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo. The series was later adapted into a 42-episode anime television series which was produced by Nippon Animation. After that, a live-action film was made in 1987 starring : Yoko Minamino, and Hiroshi Abe. It has been made into many other adaption projects notably in 1979, 1985, and 2002
And to mark this year’s 40th anniversary, the manga will be made into a whole new series with new voice actors and animation artists. Stay tuned for more information.
