Cast  members include:  Atsumi Tanezaki in the role of Chise Hatori, Ryouta Takeuchi as Elias, Koki Uchiyama as Ruth, and Aya Endo as Silver.

As the animation is still in progress, we hope you enjoy reading through the comments from the staff and cast. First up is the original author, Kore Yamazaki.

Kore Yamazaki (Author)

It seems like a bunch of people who love ‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ are creating an even more interesting, graceful, and exciting version of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. I am excited to see what kind of world we will get to see in this new version and hold high expectations for it.

     Norihiro Naganuma (Director)
‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ series is really fascinating.

It is a story about a young girl named Chise who explores and discovers the beauty around her. It explores her journey from being a young girl growing into a young woman. It’s about capturing a special moment that may seem so trivial in everyday life, but can be big enough to change your life. It is our goal to create something that will connect to every individual in whatever journey they may be going through currently.

The project will of course include a comical side between Elias and Chise along with other friends like Silver, Ruth, Nevin.

We hope you are looking forward to the ‘The Ancient Magus’Bride’ animation.

Joji Wada (President of Wit Studio)
Animation requires countless hours and the efforts from many people. And we have immersed ourselves and dedicated important time and effort into making this film. We have put a lot of thought into what we were making. In the spring of 2014, in a book store I visited regularly, a cover of a work caught my attention.

It was  “The Ancient Magus’ Bride”.

‘It is a story to understand the beauty of the world’
These words are from the original author and these words express the vast world depicted by Mr. Yamazaki.

This world seems to be so large that perhaps our animation team has had to expand its imagination to express it. I conveyed to all those who wanted to work on the animation, that we will need to put in all of our energy and everything we can ever give into making this film. As a result, we have been able to materialize the world of ‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ in our minds, into a grand PV of 3 minutes. Also, we are making 3 OADs (original animation disc) based on the idea given by Mr. Yamazaki. We would like meet and go beyond any expectations the readers of the original work may have. We are working towards this goal with all our might and all of the fans support has meant so much to us. Thank you.

Atsumi Tanezaki (as Chise Hatori)
For everyone who is a fan of ‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’, I am thrilled to get this opportunity to play the role of Chise Hatori yet again in the OAD.  The world created by Kore Yamazaki is so beautiful that it I am continuously touched by it and lucky to be able to experience it, that everything is so surreal to me. From watching the PV, I hope you can get a glimpse of the exciting and strange world you will soon be able to explore with us!

Ryota Takeuchi (as Elias)
Hi everyone! I’m Ryota and I will be playing the role of Elias. I am very thankful and excited to be part of this beautiful story. This has been an amazing experience so far, and seeing the process of this animation project has been so much fun! As most of you may know, though Elias is a non-human character, his demeanor is like that of an English gentleman. However on the inside, he is just like a child. He’s cute, very honest, and at times extremely ruthless. He has many layers and sides to him.

The animation project has started and when I saw the PV, it left me breathless. I am happy that you will watch how the non-human magus Elias and Chise grow! We are happy to entertain you whether through the Animation or the original work! I hope my work as Elias will continue to make people happy especially through this beautiful world of ‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ ! Let’s walk into this world together…

I’d like to share one of my favorite lines in the movie. “Nestled in the shadows, a ring made of holly olive, ten-fold to many, spinning a spider’s web on a branch…”
Are you just as excited to see this animation as we are?

Make sure you go and see Chise and all your favorite characters!
